That's a phrase I read once and I say it over to comfort myself in these times that try the soul. Let me start from the beginning...
I knew that correspondence would be hard, but MAN! I really missed instruction and having a pace to keep to. It turns out that there was not to be an LPN program starting this winter so I'd be waiting until September, IF there's even a start date in then. Hmmm, did you catch the big IF!! I'm so mad, frustrated, let down and discouraged. The school tells me now that there are not always enough students or instructors to run the evening part-time classes, so my only options are full-time or the whole thing by correspondence. Over the last few months, I have gotten the biggest run-around by this school that I want nothing to do with it, so I applied to Grant MacEwan to start the full-time Bachelor of Science in Nursing next January. That, of course, didn't work out because they've gotten so competitive and receive a bazillion applications. So now I'm back at square one with no idea what to do with my life while I'm not getting any younger and the realities of starting a family loom on an ever-nearing horizon.
So I've been looking into other options, not particularly things I'm excited about but maybe something that would be flexible and fill my career void. I could stay at the engineering firm I work for now and move into a different role that might allow for part-time working hours when the need arises in future. My father-in-law sold his business (AMEN!!) that Lee was managing, so he'll be looking for work in a month, so that brings dynamics all of its own. We could end up in some small, remote town doing church ministry, for all I know right now. I've looked into medical laboratory careers too, which could be kinda cool. We'll see. I can't really do much about that right now 'cause I need to see what happens with Lee's work over the summer. How many times have I wished that my life had turned out the way I'd planned in high school and that I'd never met a stupid boy at Briercrest to mess it all up? (note of clarification - NOT Lee)
Anyway, to prevent this update from becoming an epic novel, I'm going to stop now, besides, I have a lot of blog reading to catch up on. Now that I have a lot more time on my hands you should be hearing from me a lot more often - if you haven't already deleted me from your list of blogs to read!!
Did I mention that I got 98% on my final exam?? *sigh* If only it mattered.
Oh, and GO Canucks GO!!!

Congrats on the 98% and on coming back to Blogland. Nice to see you again. Soooooooooo.....what to do with your life hey? Don't let the prospect of school stop you from having a family. Granted, it is a lot more "complicated" to be in school with a child, but it is totally do-able by the grace of God. He will guide you to the place of your calling. He knows the desires of your heart.
It is nice to see you again!!! I was like "heeey, new post!" had almost closed the window already.
I'm so sorry to hear about the roadblocks. I'd like to say "it will all work out" but it irritates me when people say that to me.
Darla is right though. If you and Lee feel ready for a family, I wouldn't hold back. Examine your heart and your plan as a family. You are NOT old but time does slip away.
My life didn't go as planned either. I was supposed to be in some remote town doing church ministry with my husband. ;)
Welcome back! I was like Shannon and almost closed the window and then realized it was a new post! Congrats on the 98% on your last exam and I do hope that things work out with your career and family options. I do hope that everything works out for the best and remember it's in God's hands;)
So glad you're back...I was getting tired of seeing "Happy Birthday Kristal" 6 months later...I guess it could've always been for this upcoming year. =)
Man, that's a bummer about all the school stuff...how frustrating!!! You are beautiful and talented...I know the Lord has the perfect job for you in mind.
Love you.
